About Us

These are people who feel called to serve in Haiti, have been invited to come to CHI and are currently raising support

The Reeves Family
Spencer and Risa have 3 kids (Asher 5, Keziah 3, Salem 1). The Reeves Family began in Southern California where Risa and Spencer met while attending Kings Harbor Church in Redondo Beach. They felt compassion early on in their marriage to work and take care of orphans as they served and learned alongside the Wilson family in Baja, Mexico. In 2008 they moved to Ellensburg, WA where Spencer is from. During this time the Reeves helped lead teams to Child Hope. Over the past year they have worked towards planting a night and day House of Prayer as well as hosting Perspectives classes, mobilizing others into missions. Spencer and Risa are committed to taking care of God's children through love and protection. As Haiti rebuilds in the natural and the spiritual they are dedicated to see God's purposes in the people of Haiti come forth to be a blessing on the earth. Their primary roles will be discipleship of the boys, while cultivating an atmosphere of prayer and worship. They are currently raising support to join us early fall.

Betsy Barnett
"My desire to serve in Haiti began hearing Pastor Wilson Charles sermon a Haitian Pastor, my church partnered with post earthquake. The Holy Spirit prompted me to commit to a medical mission trip that May and a spark was lit in my heart that moved me to serve the Haitian community. My eyes, heart, and mind were truly led opened during a 3-month mission working in the Wings of Refuge Children’s Home. Caring for the 21 children, learning the circumstances that brought them to the home, brought me closer to the Lords bigger plan. I felt a clear message, with his encouragement and equipping me, I was being asked to utilize my gifts and my career experience in the apparel business. The position to serve at Child Hope Transition Program opened for me to meet the needs of the young adults and Mothers training them a sustainable vocational skill as the Sewing Instructor. I am fully committed to serve the Child Hope Mission encouraging my sisters and brothers to a saving relationship to Jesus Christ and equipping the teens preparing to leave the orphanage for a life in the Haitian community. I am most grateful for the Support needed to serve at the Light House Transition Program."
