It has been two years since Haiti's devastating earthquake which forever impacted a country already living in extreme poverty and despair. But the fact remains -- God's love has never ceased. His great love for Haiti is demonstrated daily as Child Hope continues to minister to those in great need – orphaned and at-risk children. Because of Christ’s great love, we have seen once violent street boys transform into gentle, loving young men who worship the Lord wholeheartedly. Girls who were once neglected and abused have true joy and extend forgiveness and love to relatives and others who have hurt them. With an increased post-earthquake need for medical care, the Lord expanded the reach of our medical clinic, providing the local community with free or low cost medical care. When multiple schools were destroyed in the quake, the Lord provided the Maison de Lumiere primary school for both MDL children and the poor children in the community. As we sought to provide valuable vocational training for our MDL graduates, the Lord helped birth a Transition Program, providing training in multiple micro-businesses and creating job opportunities. Child Hope has seen the faithful Love of God demonstrated time and time again in every aspect of our mission in Haiti.
