Short-term mission teams are a tremendous help to Child Hope International and Maison de Lumiere can offer a wide variety of ministry opportunities, including: Evangelism and Outreach – You will have the opportunity to visit the kids in our home, kids on the streets and in remote villages. Special trips may be offered so that you can share God's Word with people of all ages in other parts of Haiti. If a music crusade or film crusade is planned you can also join us at those events. Construction – As we maintain and expand Maison de Lumiere we will always have a need for construction assistance. You may be able to help with laying block, shoveling, pouring cement, laying foundation, etc. Carpenters and plumbers are also greatly needed. Painting – We always have projects that need to be painted. Vocational Training – We are always interested in professional tradesmen who can offer training in auto repair, plumbing, sewing, cooking, purse making and other skills our kids can use. Bible Training – Come and stay for a while, a month, a summer or longer and share your knowledge of the Word with the children of Maison de Lumiere. Medical/Dental – We can arrange examination/treatment programs for doctors, nurses, dentists and those who have access to medical resources to minister to our children and to others in the region. VBS/Camp – These day camps can be taught at our home or we can provide opportunities at schools, churches or in nearby villages. Sports Camp – The Haitian children love to play soccer and basketball! You can teach them how to be a team player. School – Our children attend school during the school year 5 days a week! If you would like to assist with tutoring or possibly offer a special class, let us know. Devotions – We have devotionals every morning and every night. We love when guests join us, share a testimony or conduct a special Bible reading. Let us know in advance if this is an interest so we can plan for your participation. Food Program – This one day outreach consists of distributing and/or serving food to children and families in Port Au Prince or remote villages. Special Talent – Let us know about it! Maybe you can make balloon animals, cook, paint murals or design fun crafts. We will try to find a way to plug you in! We can work with you from the ground up—from flights, ground transportation, housing, safe meals, translators and all the details—to put together a life-changing visit that impacts your team for years to come.
